Enhancement of professional training and occupational certification systems for information security and cyber defense is an ongoing task to strengthen Ukraine’s cyber resilience, said Oleksandr Potii, SSSCIP Deputy Chairman, in his speech at the Kyiv International Cybersecurity Forum.
Traditionally, in October, various events take place in the U.S., EU countries and many other countries to draw the public attention to the cyber defense matters. Those include awareness campaigns to promote the cyber hygiene rules and other arrangements. Our country has been supporting this initiative for several years already.
The State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine and the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on May 5, 2023.
The National Qualifications Agency informed the State Special Communications Administration about the entry into the Register of Qualifications of information regarding the professional standards "Developer of information protection systems", "Network and systems administrator", "Specialist in the field of information protection", "Security analyst of information and telecommunication systems", "Specialist on security issues (information and communication technologies)", "Instructor-methodologist in information security and cyber security".
On December 8-9, the National Qualifications Agency held a large-scale International Forum "Human capital: security, recovery, European integration". Representatives of the Government, ministries, state bodies, educational institutions, deputies, Ukrainian and international experts discussed the task of developing the National Qualifications System and its inclusion in the European Qualifications System.
The issue of reforming the system of training professional personnel in the field of cyber security is long overdue for Ukraine. And as a result of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, which is ongoing in cyberspace in particular, it has significantly escalated. The market lacks specialists with skills and qualifications that would meet the modern requirements of employers.

The company represents the interests of Ukraine in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) as a full member and is a companion organization of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and the European Committee for Standardization in the Field of Electrical Engineering (CENELEC).
The testing laboratory of the STATE SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF CYBER SECURITY TECHNOLOGIES successfully passed re-accreditation at the NATIONAL ACCREDITATION AGENCY OF UKRAINE and received an ACCREDITATION CERTIFICATE in accordance with the requirements of DSTU EN ISO/IEC 17025:2019 (EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017, IDT/IEC 1750; ISO/IEC 1750 ; 2017, IDT) in the field: product testing for compliance with cryptographic and technical information protection requirements.
